Earshot

Terms of Service

Last updated October 14, 2026

Earshot is a voice-first daily log for childcare providers. You speak, it records the day, and it drafts an update for each child’s parents. These terms cover using it.

What the service does

Earshot transcribes what a provider says, files it against the right child, keeps the fifteen-minute clock on infant sleep checks, lets families and providers message each other, and drafts updates for families from the day’s log. It is offered as is, and no particular feature is guaranteed to keep working forever.

It is not the licensing record

Earshot helps you keep a record; it is not a substitute for the record your licensing authority requires you to hold, and it does not give legal or regulatory advice. Sleep-check timing follows California’s fifteen-minute rule, and the incident report follows the layout of the state’s form, but you remain responsible for meeting the rules that apply to you, for the accuracy of what you record, and for filing whatever your licensing authority requires in the form it requires. Keep your own copies of anything you are required to keep.

Your account

You are responsible for your password and for what happens under your account. Do not share it. If you think someone else has it, change it. You can delete your account from Settings at any time; the privacy policy says what that removes.

Your content stays yours

Everything you log belongs to you and the families you serve. Earshot stores and processes it only in order to run the service for you — to transcribe your voice, draft updates, and send them where you tell it to. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising. The privacy policy names the companies whose computers do that work.

Updates to families are written by a model

Updates are written by an AI model from your log, and models get things wrong. By default nothing reaches a family until you have read the draft and chosen to send it, and that is the setting we recommend. You can instead turn on scheduled sending without review in Settings. If you do, updates go to families at the times you set with no one having read them, and what they say is still your word to that family. Turning that on is your decision and your responsibility; Earshot cannot check the text for you.

Photographs

The photo features exist for meals and for activities set out before children reach them. Do not use Earshot to photograph or store photographs of children. The app checks each meal or activity photo for a person and refuses it if it finds one, but the check is a safeguard, not a guarantee, and the responsibility for what is in the frame is yours. Pictures sent in Messages are between you and the family you send them to; use the same judgement there.

Families and the portal

You choose which email addresses receive each child’s updates, and you are responsible for keeping them right. When you invite a family to the parent portal, give the link to that family only; whoever accepts it is connected to that child.

Cost

Earshot is not currently sold, so there is nothing to bill and no subscription to cancel. If that ever changes, the terms will be updated and you will be told before anything is charged.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Earshot is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it, including lost data or lost profits.

Changes

These terms may change. Anything significant will be communicated rather than quietly edited in, and the date at the top will change with it.
